Commonly called VOCs, volatile organic compounds are used in the manufacture of the many synthetic building products found in most new houses today, including carpeting, flooring, paint, cabinetry, countertops, and the structural framework itself. Hundreds of off-gassing VOCs have been identified, but the one that has captured the most attention is formaldehyde. It is a potent eye and nose irritant and causes respiratory effects. It is also classified by the US Government Environmental Protection Agency as a probable human carcinogen.
Pretreated, Before Move-in
In response to this concern, Touchpoint introduces its Bio-Build Certification Program which creates safer environments in new homes. A Bio-Build certified home has been professionally treated before move-in with a protective shield applied to all interior surfaces which eliminates VOCs, purifies the air, while providing protection from future introduction of harmful pathogens like mold, virus and bacteria in the process.
Touchpoint works with contractors and new home builders to treat the following surfaces: Hardwood, plywood, drywall, window treatments, joists, concrete, masonry, carpeting, floor tile, cupboards, closets, HVAC systems, under sinks and countertops, tub and surround enclosures & backings, wall coverings.
